You called that one first, my friend. For awhile there I thought Biden would finish ahead of Bush II and Andrew Johnson, but he has managed to pass even them in his race to be the worst ever.
Oh, there will be another worst president. And then another. As long as we keep buying expensive tickets to watch the Harlem Globetrotters play against the Washington Generals. They just divide up the gate receipts after the game.
The Russian kid abduction narrative was so dominant in media, accepted as evident fact fact wherever I looked, so that a war crimes investigation through the Hague International Criminal Court could be justified against a political enemy. I looked into it extensively and was surprised to find how vapid the evidence of that was: https://roberturbaschek.substack.com/p/is-russia-abducting-ukrainian-children
And now, with mountains of video evidence of what are clearly war crimes by any meaningful definition, where are the investigations? This pains me because it shows how meaningless international institutions are, it undermines the very thing that they aspire to be, namely the basis for international law, justice, and cooperation. Instead they reveal themselves as the extension of Western interests and thus lose their credibility as impartial institutions (outside the West at least).
In February last year I was trying to get my family out of Ukraine. The US Embassy was zero help; the Russian Embassy said they would be welcome. However, there was no way to get there. There was maybe a bus, but from central Ukraine you'd have to make it through the contact line of the civil war into Donbass.
East of the contact line could go to Russia; west of the contact line had to cross the country and go into Europe - my family had a harrowing, crowded and long trip to Poland.
Someday I should publish those Embassy emails - maybe when it's all over.
Thank you; I'll look forward to the discussion when it's possible. I also have friends here including of course @ohiobarbarian, @passionateprogressive and @mrmickeysmom who were supportive through the whole process, with long discussions on a sadly defunct political site. The site owner even offered to pick us up and take us across the Mexican border if we get there - and I know SFFH would have done it!
Some sad memories, and some very good memories.
The US Government was very little help, even if Biden said Ukrainians were welcome if they can get here - but he did not make it easy to get here.
Credit and thanks to Senator Jeff Merkley - he and his staff made entering the country timely, by US standards.
The term, "semite" includes Arabs, Akkadians, Canaanites and Hebrews, so I'm taking a cue from Sabby Sabs in questioning who owns that title, and the excuse to call a cease fire as "anti-Semitic". Oh, boy... here's to another week of protest, starting with protesting the appropriations to fund this. Think our continued activism doesn't count? Well, after the massive 2003 protest in Washington, my feet lost, but my heart is still in calling out The Great Satan, I mean, the US.
Sabrina's a good one, and she's doing a great job of educating her audience. Military brat, too, you know. I find it refreshing she knows the difference between a soldier and a sailor and a Marine. Most lefties don't.
Love the article and above comments.....In my view this is doing damage to the American hegemony project equivalent to that of BRICS and the emergence of long needed multi-polarity. This has exposed the flaws of the settler-colonialism based American empire and the Western civilizations that are hiding behind it in the name of 'democracy and freedom'....Post WWII Western centric institutions like the UN are also being exposed.....As for Biden being the worst president?? Was anyone surprised when he has been on the wrong side of every issue from the lynching of Anita Hill to the Iraq War and continuing....Yes, and unfortunately the material in the political elites doesn't seem to offer any new blood let alone new ideas. My hope is that this exposure will eliminate any future* roll the US would play in moderating Israel-Palestine diplomatic solution...*(assuming there is a future)
Yah, I think America's best foreign policy bet for the near term is just to butt out of everyone else's business. After all, everything we've touched has turned to shit or death for generations. The last thing I'd want if I lived in another country would be the US "moderating" my future.
I'm hoping the shock of watching this genocide unfold live on social media will act as a wake up call to those who have fallen for the status quo propaganda. We can't let the Palestinians--especially these innocent children--die in vain. Protesters and longshoremen are stopping ships from shipping arms to Israel and several groups are planning walk-outs and strikes this week. It's time to shut the corrupt and immoral system down!!
The Biden-Blinken horror show is over, all they do is get people killed.
Yet another reason Biden is the worst President in American history.

That's assuming Biden and Blinken don't get their nuclear war, of course.

If you do, I'd be more than happy to discuss & possibly publish them with you! You can get in touch with me at criticalconsent.substack@pm.me.
