Glad you like it. I think I'm going to do one on Ethiopian/Eritrean/Somali history that starts in 1896 and focuses on everything that went on there during the Cold War next.

See Gary Brecher/John Dolan " The War Nerd" series of articles and podcasts, he was paying attention to that part of Africa before it was fashionable (and after).

Also "Pearls, Arms and Hashish" by Henri de Monfreid for an inter war, professional smuggler's water level view of colonial machinations around the Red Sea & NE Africa.

Yeah, my grandfathers both did that. But they didn't care for it much and didn't stick with it.

So right about which oil corporation you're working for in that corner of the world. It's always about the oil. Follow the money.

These guys do great documentaries. The WW1 week by week and Franco-Prussiaan war ones are truly epic.

Glad to see someone else whose seen them. The Great War series was a grind, but only because it was so brutally honest about it. It's so important to know, though.
