Yes, can't happen soon enough...Ray McGovern has an interesting post about this today - specifically from Germany and quotes emails directly from his friends in Germany...As for me, I'm working on a response to a more tangentially related issue and my experiences with academia - which is a major part of the problem in the US...Post Cold War politicization of Academia - to teach American exceptionalism as a substitute for political science and Russian hatred as a substitute for 'area studies'...Apparently, the latter phenomenon is due to the influx of Eastern European refugees into State/academia with little to any cross fertilization....and then dominance by same to the exclusion of other trains of thought. As you point out, the collapse is coming and I have no ability to characterize it other than to say that whatever the cure, it will have to be deep and may end up being worse than the symptom.

Great post, and not just because it was concise, an attribute in too short supply these days. ;)

Yes, seen many reports of protests all over Europe against NATO. The #EmpireOfLies is in rapid collapse. There are also large protests happening in Korea against the US occupation. None of this of course being reported in MSM.

Hi people, hoping all is well with everyone.

Without starting with a quote about Biden and his abilities, the M$M has a long history of ignoring relevant facts and projecting war as the only solution. As usual, Commercial Media (a.k.a. M$M) makes a lot of money doing this, namely from people who benefit from war. As for the folks who do not make a lot of money, The GreyZone has an interesting piece about Europeans protesting NATO's existence.

Since Vietnam, the Pentagon has learned, do not allow the media on the front lines, and most of all, do all you can to keep the public uninformed. During the Iraq War #1, the Pentagon turned this into a fine art. Then, with the help of the U.S. National Government, anybody who said this war is about "oil", you need to repeatably label them a "Conspiracy Theorist!" Of course, taking out the world's second-largest hydrocarbon provider, Iraq, had nothing to do with oil. The Pentagon not only learn this subject so well, they took notes and are now teaching courses.

As for print and video news, it seems they have a creditability problem. Twenty-six percent of the U.S. Public believes the media is factual. The other Seventy-four percent of the U.S. Public believes the media lies, or just does not care. That is a sad day when most of the governed population believe they are being treated like a mushroom. So much for critical thinking, that is a poke for the so-called powers on the top, just in case they did not get it.

This is how some citizens of Germany reacted to Kiev supporters trying to upstage a peace rally in front of the Russian embassy:

https://www.easternherald.com/2023/02/25/berliners-spoiled-the-ukrainian-refugees-plans-and-covered-the-russian-tank-with-flowers/

It should be noted that supporters of the Kiev regime were aware of the plans of Wagenknecht and Schwarzer to organize a rally against the supply of arms. They planted a destroyed Russian tank in front of the Russian Embassy to interfere with the event. However, the rally participants came to the embassy and laid thousands of roses on the reservoir. The German police did not intervene in what was happening.

On a more ominous note, It looks like Germany fully intends to re-arm and re-militarize big time. Same for Japan.

On a more completely shallow note, I watched a Hollywood awards show on Sunday and there were no mentions or viewings or sighting of Zelensky and/or Ukraine that I noticed.

Well OB, I dearly wished it were so. When I watched some of the German and French

protests, something became obvious: Almost all older and old people. MAD has been

forgotten or not taught seemingly. Old people may - in very rare cases - remember some

of the early results from WWII: Cold, Hunger, bombed out homes, missing or wounded

relatives. They will remember the Cuban missile crisis. Just as most Americans don't

have any real understanding of what war entails, nor do the middle aged or young

generations in Europe.

Even though we here feel angry about the censorship from DC/corporations these

restrictions are nothing when compared to Europe. You can go to prison in Germany

if your car window shows a "Z", for instance. The corrupt elites have a much harsher

control there. Here we smear or ridicule opposition, there they face far more

difficult and often legal consequences. In France they set a brutal police on many

protesters, as Macron has shown several times.

Perhaps our people in the US have a somewhat more rebellious spirit than you

think. They hate to be controlled, though they cave to propaganda. The strong

resistance here against the lock-downs and mandates has made a lot very

suspicious of government rules. The inflation and energy costs will cause far

more anger here than in Europe. Just mho.
