I wonder what the intended usage of flamethrower robot dog is. Seeing how far away you can light your neighbors beard on fire?

Well, that's the great debate on the subject, you see. California has regulations for the things; you're only allowed to fry your neighbor from 10 feet away there, not the 30 feet designed by the manufacturer.

If Ohio follows its normal pattern they'll go for the middle and put a 20 foot limit on them.

I'd much rather not be holding onto a flame thrower on a two way range. Thermobarics have taken the place of WWII era flame weapons for several good reasons.

Thermobarics. I must confess that rang only a faint bell, so I had to look it up. You're right, of course. I suppose the fact that we can actually buy a robot flamethrower is funny only because we live in a dystopia.

Personally, I'll stick to firearms, swords, and crossbows. I understand those.

...but THIS someone with a sword or crossbow would have you or someone like you VERY close by. Either that, or I would flee very quickly.

I will read all your entries for 2024 in due time, OB.

As you know, I'm new here. May we topple them in 2025.

This whole weapons thing is so warmonger-like$

The terror of the children and everyone else enrages me. Gaza is their sociopathic testing ground. ✌️

There's a big difference between 31,000 dead and half a million. Given that both UKR and RUS are predictably lying propagandistic states at war with one another and the US and the EU and affilated think tanks are also slanted in one direction, can we just split the difference and say a lot of Ukrainians have died? Oh, and some Russians too (more than what the Kremlin says) but less than what the Times of London claims. I can't think of a conflict more drenched in bullshit battlefield stats.

The Russian Ministry of Defense reported yesterday that around 8,000 Ukrainian soldiers were killed last week. I've definitely, sadly, believe half a million - but I've been hearing that number for a month or two. The longer Genocide Joe and Zelensky remain alive and in office, the higher that number will climb - and quickly Ukraine is running out of Ukrainians.

Putin’s runnin outta Russians too…..

Now what?

Punditman's avatar

I don't think so. It will take a lot longer since Russia has close to four times as many people.

But these proud Russians are leaving the country and deserting in the field ☹️. Putin’s pulling convicted criminals out of the prisons, and hiring mercenaries… This doesn’t sound too good

My ancestors founded Missouri. Show me the evidence, and if it comes from a Ukrainian or CIA source I will know.

There's all sorts of hard evidence of Ukrainians avoiding military service. There are 860,000 of them in the EU alone. That's from the LA Times, BTW. I did an old Dubya trick and used the Google, well, the Duck.

Amazing how many people don't understand basic math.

Ukrainian population in 2024: 37 million

Russian population in 2024: 144 million

Plus, Russia makes most of its own weapons, and is quite good at that.

The old Vietnam syndrome comin back to haunt us…

If we had ditched the Empire after Vietnam, most Americans and the rest of the world would be one helluva lot better off now.

It wasn't the Vietnam Syndrome. It was the Vietnam Lesson. And people like you failed to learn it.

As ever, a nice summary of how the world continues to fall apart. Did you see the pictures of how Blinken was greeted in China, and how he ceremonially left China (hint: it was only the US Ambassador).

As for Victory Park (Park Pobeda), they also have an Abrams tank, which has reportedly been removed from Ukrainian front line service as they are too easy to take down with a $500 drone. I have a family member in Moscow - I'll see if it's on his list for May :-) What can I say - I have family in Ukraine, Russia and the US . . .

I was in Victory Park (took me three tries to spell it in English ;-) ) a few years ago, but it was for a Mariinsky Theater Orchestra concert under Gergiev on Victory Day. He and his orchestra is tireless - I was at their concert at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory where they played the 1st and 6th symphonies of Tchaikovsky that evening!

I have spotted the NAFO "goodfellas" again on X/Twitter. They're posting harassing messages on posts by pro-Palestine protesters. Go figure. They just love genocide and war everywhere. Block and ignore them.

LOL. I'd been off XTwitter for so long I'd forgotten about them until the RT story reminded me of them.

'...having so many guns-and now bloody flamethrowers!-flying around in astronomical numbers.'

A government that advocates for more weapons, all in the name of supposed personal rights, and the root cause is due to strong lobbying by the firearm companies and manufacturers.

Let's see... I think those real dolls (you know, like the one Howard Sterns bought to have sex with?) might be going through a declining market, seeing as how violence seems more sustainable compared to what you must have to do to keep the real doll clean and ready.

And, where do all these jacked up, Kevlar vested cops come from? I'd love to know how it is that an educator can readily escort them to the nearest roof on campus. What kind of career path are we talking here?

I have a fantasy of flaming their and GI-Joe's asses up and telling Fido he's "good boy" afterwards. Look at what is taking place, Mr. & Mrs. America... I knew it would come to this, and I know it will assure that Biden will not be able to run. In fact, I don't see there being an election for him or Cheeto. I just don't see it at this point, OB.
