I think of the 'empire' as the 'Anglo world order' theorized (Carnegie, Wella, Rhodes among others) at the close of the 19th century when the war for North American hegemony against indigenous people was coming to a close. (Duncan Bell, DREAMWORLDS OF RACE (2022)) Concept was catalyzed during WWII after the 1940 fall of France when the post WWII world order was planned (Wertheim, TOMORROW THE WORLD (2022))....Anglo-world order includes usual colonialists and largely sea-power based.....Canada would be tied to the US project...Israel is the tool....

That order is rapidly losing cohesion. Our leaders are so busy trying to manufacture a reality to their liking simply by COMMANDING it to be so, but material reality doesn't work that way.

Look at Netanyahu nominating Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize. When all the ruling class has left is chutzpah, it's running on fumes.

Thanks. It took me a little time to make it, I almost wish it would go viral, but I'm not on any social media, so it is what it is!

This was a great read, OB. It's another journalistic ride across the pond and back again, and always a history lesson. It doesn't MATTER which part of the "collective West" we read about (before hurling). It's just another example of a bizarre landscape in the continuing regression of the human race. There is no elite guard riding amongst the proletariat on their high horse, looking down at anyone nearby who is not similarly equinely elevated. There is only a deer returning home to relay stories of the latest assholes trying to tame the neighborhood.

Aw, poor deer! But he does look rather dashing sporting his unique "ear ring". :-)

Be on the look out for more horror stories of killer storms in the US and the missing National Weather Service personnel who weren't there to report them to the public...

The copious amount of bullshit emanating from local authorities over this disaster took me by surprise, because I grew up on the north side of San Antonio and drove all over the Hill Country for years.

That region has ALWAYS been prone to flash floods. Why else would they put flood-measuring markers on all of the bridges there? Turn around, don't drown.

No, this sounds like overdevelopment--building cabins and houses too damned close to the rivers and creeks for the sake of profits. There's nothing the Weather Service can do about that.
