I think that Trump and Musk need to remember that the US is a country, not a business. Okay, hahahahaha! People need jobs and people need to buy food. Also, calling Social Security a Ponzi scheme does not bode well - a country us supposed to take care of its citizens and its infrastructure. Yes, there is a lot of grift and waste, but looks to me like Trump and Musk are cheerfully throwing out other peoples' babies with the bathwater.

I have read several recent reports of how well Russia takes care of its veterans - i.e., meetings on the forthcoming anniversary of May 9 'VE- Day' and how Putin has listened to plans to recognize 'all' veterans (some of those must be nearing 100 (+/-)) AND their families and to ensure that all are cared for (WWII- Afghanistan to SMO in Ukraine) and I am just now reading about a meeting he had with a women's organization 'Defenders of the Fatherland' and the charitable work that they do in support of caring for disabled Russian veterans.....both stories brought tears...

Russia is taking in Christians trying to escape being slaughtered, in Syria, at its air base. The US, I believe, put the new ruler of Syria in place. Not so long ago, the US had a $10 million bounty on his head, as a terrorist. Erdogan could stop this, I think. Wonder if he and Putin will have some words. What a world.

The US put the guy in power with the bounty in place, bought him a nice suit and got his beard trimmed, then removed the bounty. Hundreds of Aalawites, Christians and other minorities have been publicly executed in the last day or so. Sounds just like the kind of proxy rulers the US loves. God, we are such a despicable nation.

What is mystifying is how the UK is turning into a Muslim country, and I read that France is going the same way. I had disregarded the idea that Erdogan wants to recreate the Ottoman empire, but maybe that is where the West should be looking, not to Russia. While the West is trying to go after resources and power, Erdogan is playing his own game.

I think that Mirandi has a point when he says that though some think Erdogan is playing 3 D chess - in the long run because Erdogan plays both sides, no one trusts him....I do believe and have heard through commentary by multiple sources that the Russian diplomatic track record sets the standard.

Damn, Africa is in such a huge mess.....in a large part due to never-ending Western colonialism.

'British Prime Minister Keir Starmer showed his support for empirical insanity by promising Zelensky $2.8 billion....'

These guys are so deeply stuck in their unrealistic anti-Russian agendas. Hopefully their own citizens pay attention and remember all their lies and propaganda when this proxy war fully falls apart.

I may have more faith in the European people than they themselves do. I've studied their history, and know they are perfectly capable of putting their leaders' heads on poles when they get sufficiently pissed off at them.

It also happens where it is least expected at the time. Nobody could conceive of the English chopping their King's head off as late as 1644, when their civil war was still raging. Nobody saw the French Revolution coming until it happened because it could never happen in France.

Russia? Well, after the Revolution of 1905 people could see that coming, maybe, but nobody expected a Communist revolution there when World War I started, not even Lenin.

Now? I hate to guess, but keep a close eye on Germany and Belgium. Yes, Belgium, because NOBODY expects it to happen there.

Somehow England wanting to put boots on the ground and airplanes over Ukraine - but only if the US helps - is a good example of crazy.

Russian Intelligence chuckled that Britain has maybe 7500 troops ready for deployment. At the best guess available, if they suffered the same attrition rate as the Ukrainians they'd last about a week.

Sorry, but I don't remember the source for that.

The actual plan is to have a NATO country's boots on the ground, fully expecting those boots (and fighter jets ) to be blown up, and use Article 5 to make the US step in.

That missle that hit Poland. You are assuming it was Russian. I think it was fired by Ukraine.

Again: let the Russians that voted in Putin deal with their politics. We should be more concerned about the growth of fascism here in the States. Trump is pulling us there unless we stop him by taking it to the streets

Oh please, the end of DEI is not "fascism." Real Communists with a material class analysis see though all that anti-racism b.s. as sugary frosting on the late capitalist crap cake.

If you are actually for ending forever wars as your bio here says, why are you not applauding the end of the proxy war against Russia, and the end of USAID, and NED? That all is more "fascist" than anything Trump ever did.

And no I didn't vote so no axe to grind.

It's amazing to me how this country has been fascist according to Mussolini's definition for at LEAST a full quarter of a century, but was only when Trump came along that people like you noticed, because you don't like the artificial orange flavoring he adds to the thing.

And it doesn't matter who fired the missile. The only thing that matters is that Zelensky used the incident to try to start a nuclear war. Fortunately, the Poles had more sense.

Heard an interesting theory on Garland Nixon's show tonight - Joti Brar (co-host with Garland on some of his shows) thinks that Zelinsky is an MI-6 asset....why he stopped off in London after being thrown out of the White House.
