I thought the Peanut the squirrel scandal might get a mention.

Ten armed officers, the couple were not allowed to go into the bathroom by themselves, the police were there for hours. Also, squirrels do not get rabies. This was either a calculated display of strength for the future, or there was something else going on, and I do not mean with the owners of the animal sanctuary. IMO, the police are flexing their muscles.

Well, I was so pissed off, I called the wonks over the department of assholes in NY state. I love my neighboring NY (Southern Tier) where I spent much of my childhood in awe of that nature. I screamed a shitload of dismay over how they decided to act, and now, I'm gonna share their phone number 844-223-3267, just in case I'm not alone.

There was a SWAT team! My grandson says they were "swatted", that someone with a grudge or axe to grind called the SWAT in, but funny how they showed up with the other people to take the animals. Yes, I understand a scared squirrel bit someone. Years ago a squirrel nipped my grandson, it was laying in the street and looked dead. I took him to the ER and the doctor said no, squirrels do not spread rabies. He said he could tell from my face that I did not believe him at all, and said please go look it up. In any event, i would have had to go to animal control if I wanted grandson to have the shots anyway.

The reason the animals were put down, if there was honestly a reason to suspect rabies, is that if a human has rabies, it is fatal unless caught right away. They have to examine the brain. So no Old Yeller scenario (worst ending in the world, except for The Mist) where they could have just done observation for a while. It still is a weird thing, to have a SWAT team show up and be belligerent.

I was sick of hearing about the US election by about 1986 or so. Oh well, not much longer now.

Oh, but this time - this is the most important election of your life! Even J-Lo says so! Best headline about that, Babylon Bee, I think - P-Diddy's ex-girlfriend asks Americans to trust her judgment.

I wouldn't say the outcome of this election will be the cause of what follows, but when people look back, it'll definitely mark a turning point. For instance, I predict this will be the last US election. Frankly, I'm surprised y'all made it to this one.

I hate saying this, but, IMO etc., I do believe that the vast majority of Americans really do think that their vote counts, that elections change things - and - do not actually think about politicians and politics except during election times. And even then, just regard all the ads and $MSM commentary as just annoying interruptions to their regular routine. And a huge majority just vote for the party they have always voted for, those debates and whatever do not change minds, again IMO, they just reinforce mindsets that are already set in stone. And all of this, whilst not really changing minds and outcomes, only occurs every four years and is largely forgotten until next cycle. After all, the Dems are running a campaign that consists entirely of Orange Man Bad. With a few of the old tried and true issues thrown in, issues that will never be fixed as they are too useful as tools. Also, the deliberately nurtured divisiveness plays a big part. The US is not really a melting pot, it is composed of many warring subsets. And most of those subsets do not care about any issues other than their own.

Hmm, sounds similar to the populations of most of the countries of the Western World. We're all about to have a much more substantial disruption to our routines than an election. And for the core of the Empire, I'm afraid, those warring subsets you mention will likely escalate from ideological battles to kinetic ones. At least you won't have to worry about elections anymore.

It does amaze me that seemingly so few in the EU are not bothered at how a trading entity, as I considered the EU to be at first is so powerful. Basically, IMO, the EU is run by an unelected group of people that now dictates pretty much everything for Europe.

I don't believe nation states are, or have ever been, democracies - the ruling class have always been unelected, the people we vote for merely their lackeys (I live in Australia, which has been run by mining barons since the gold rush). However, what we're living through now is the end of the era of nation states. The world is becoming a patchwork of corporate fiefdoms, real and virtual.

Of course, this is just my own opinion - I'm not in the habit of regurgitating other people's opinions, and I don't think anyone would mistake you for being someone who does either! When the world turns upside down, one guess is probably as good as another - being an expert might even be a liability.

A long reply from Dmitry Medvedev, former President and on the Security Council. Note the JFK remark, and remember what's already happened to Trump.

--

The whole world stands frozen in uneasy anticipation, waiting for the results of the presidential election in the distant land of 'Us.

There is no reason why we should have high expectations about it.

1. The outcome of the election will not change anything for Russia, as both candidates share the same bipartisan consensus that ‘Russia must be defeated’.

2. Kamala is dumb, inexperienced, and easy to control, as she will be terrified of everyone around her. All the real decision-making will be done by a coterie of top ministers and advisors plus (indirectly) the Obamas.

3. A low-energy Trump, spewing clichés like “I'll offer them a deal” and “I have a very good relationship with...”, will be forced to comply with the system and its rules. He won't stop the war. Not in one day, not in three days, not in three months. And if he actually attempts to do it, he could end up becoming the new JFK.

4. The only thing that matters is how much cash the new POTUS can squeeze out of Congress to finance someone else's war, fought in a far-off land. Cash to feed the American military-industrial complex and to line the pockets of the Banderite scum in Ukraine.

5. That is why, if we want to please both candidates for the highest American office, the best thing to do on November 5 is keep pummeling the Nazi regime in Kiev!

Hi jbnw, hope all is well with you and your family...

Agree with you on everything except the Kamala/Obama relationship. Kamala is a Clinton creation. The cabinet/advisors list for a Kamala White House will come from the corporations (no surprise there) through a Clinton filter. Do not be surprised if Antony Blinken (God forgive us) is in, and Jake Sullivan (there is a God) is out. Also, there maybe a new Secretary of Defense. But, for the part, most people who are in the White House now will be there for the next four years or more. Our friend Victoria Nuland has a permanent position at NED (somewhat away from the media, sort of). Not to mention, there is a long term plan for Kamala (the empty vassal). It is for eight years.

I lived in North Carolina for about a year and a half. in the mid-80s. Beautiful, but massively openly bigoted against black people and Yankees. Something I remember about Jesse Helms - he did not believe in abortions for the raped, because he believed that a woman must have an orgasm in order to get pregnant, so if a pregnancy was the result of a rape - the woman must have enjoyed it, must have had an orgasm, so therefore - not rape.

I doubt it. Trump's going to win the election; the only question is by how much. The Democrats would do a 1/6/25 on Trump just as they accuse him of doing to them if they thought they could get away with it.

But they're not in charge any more than Republicans are. More than likely they'll be told to accept Trump in the White House by their masters, who'll make a bundle off of Wall Street and corruption no matter what.

You'll know I'm right if you see the Return of the Pink Pussy Hats.

I am, oddly I suppose, not even curious about this "election", because there will be so much manipulation and cheating that the actual legitimate votes are somewhat meaningless. The $MSM and the Dems have no choice but to predict Kamala's win, if there are plans in place to ensure that.

Evidently there was a serious threat to fine NBC because they lied about the no candidates thing and went ahead and had Harris on, on Saturday night. Glad I can't watch SNL until the next day, now I will skip it. Looking forward to Bill Burr's take on the election next Saturday, though, I think he is hilarious. Anyway, NBC gave Trump 90 seconds in the middle of a NASCAR race on Sunday, in order to not have to deal with the FCC. So that is three times the viewers in a better timeslot. Although both were likely just preaching to the choir. At least that is what I have read here and there.

Poking around this morning - I do believe the Democrats are actually hoping for violence. So they are going to incite it, if necessary. The military was given permission to kill citizens for a planned reason, methinks. A day full of false flags, anger, and angst. And may the next Democrat who says "unity" be visited with a spiritual smiting from on high. It would be nice if the entire process just staggered along sort of smoothly, though. Like Hannibal's would-be nemesis, Mason Verger, I would love to see some more Colbert tears. Won't miss the campaign ads - seems like wherever I turn, I see and hear Kamala lying through her teeth and out of her ass.

Should be a very interesting day. I won't watch any of the commentary on TV - the massive cheating hinted at or out in the open makes that kinda pointless.

I have heavy tasks coming up in giving my best "5 minutes" of citizen input to local government Thursday. It's over irresponsible development acting in concert with public officials looking the other way. The saving grace is that I know the issues well. The bummer is that I'm known well enough over stuff that crossed the line with some of these jerks in the past to STOP corrupt police and firemen's violating HIPAA laws and State criminal history law. The local government during this climate of phony ass federal election buyout is more of "I couldn't care less" by the current council, who isn't interested to do their own homework. They're just trying to hang on to what they think is a final authority as a bunch of old white men in charge. One of two of them, however, don't want to appear that they may not understand, so the approach to getting them to act correctly on the issue is gonna be interesting.

I'm probably teetering on depression over the state of people in general, but in realizing that this issue existed W A Y before I was born, I've decided that you're never too old to reflect on your own years of this experience, in SPITE of the characters you meet along the way where local, county, state, federal and international forums are concerned. So, after this week, I'm gonna move on and I know that I've done my best. I also turned 71 two weeks ago. It feels liberating. I have my own mind, and I will use it until I can't.

I hope your input goes well, and hope it is effective.
