What a great photo to close with ... appropriate headgear for shithead humanity.

The photo of Pete "No Pulse" Buttigieg is blood curdling. Not that it could ever happen, but imagine if wokester Democratcs were successful getting Pete elected president and running whatever latest US genocide of the moment would be underway. The only thing that would bring a smirk to his mug would be reports of a sharp uptick in child bombing death statistics.

In many, many ways, his face is the face of America to the world.

Unfair to Pete B. in my opinion. Like Harris being given the immigration problem but not the authority to do anything that might rock the status-quo boat so But. is in charge of the Transportation Department ONLY to be the spear catcher for blame. He is, almost by definition, prohibited from doing anything that the Donor Class objects to. Once some issue like Boeing raises its head sufficiently he (or anyone) is immediately blamed for inaction. And, he is smarter than many reading this.

Heartbreaking. I wonder why he puts up with it. He couldn't be just another soulless mediocre careerist, I suppose.

My Ukrainian wife is shocked by the massive paperwork required for taxes and how much we pay - we have federal, state and Portland metropolitan area income taxes. In Ukraine, it's handled by the employer.

As for healthcare, she's unpleasantly amazed by how long it takes to see a doctor or to get a lab test - sometimes weeks or months. Insurance companies decide what tests are medically necessary (I have paperwork from the insurance companies with that language) and the doctor has to argue with the insurance company.

FYI, I went into the ER in Ukraine with a high blood pressure episode. It ended up costing 1000 hryvnia ($40).

I'll also compare roads - lately it seems they were better in Ukraine! Over the last few years they have really declined in Oregon - potholes, worn lanes you have to avoid, and one stretch of highway they've just given up on and put up signs like "Sunken Grade" as that's cheaper than fixing the road. One stretch almost threw me off the road - gravel with height changes.

So, yes, it's easy to see the US decline, especially when you can compare to other countries.

And on missiles, Scholz has said the Taurus missiles if "used incorrectly" could strike Moscow.

In other Ukrainian reports, there are now villages with almost no men due to war, mobilization and emigration, and multiple days of attempted incursions into Russia by Ukraine were stopped at a heavy cost to Ukraine.

But then, Ukraine is no longer a hot topic for US media.

Yes, Taurus missiles could easily reach Moscow from Ukraine. That's why Scholtz(sp?) of Germany said No, and it's the GREEN Party Foreign Minister pushing for that!

Great read as always. Would like to add my own 'update' that of Victoria Nuland's hiring by Columbia University and thus ensuring Russophobic/Zionist contamination of academia and that the MICIMATT (military industrial congressional intelligence media ACADEMIC think tank) complex is alive and well. Reportedly, the career diplomat will hold the Kathryn and Shelby Cullom Davis Professorship and lead the International Fellows Program. Move over Michael McFaul, Anne Applebaum and Fiona Hill, Nuland will need some room metaphorically and physically.

Oh my Dog! You cannot be saying, "Victoria 'Toria, Toria, Toria' Nuland is a..." Um, ug, "Nuland is a FAT ASS?"

In more ways than one???

As I've said before, Nuland is a Certified Vampire of the Empire. She shapeshifts from role to role, always pushing for the spilling of more blood.

"Late stage capitalism has got to be the greatest grifting operation since the Roman Catholic Church was selling indulgences. "

You definitely got that one right! Capitalism is the ultimate grift.

Hmm... If they're wearing underwear on their heads and they don't have pencils up their noses and saying, "wubble" simultaneously, then they won't be able to get out of the Army based on their insanity. Because who would be able to tell the difference? (from "Blackadder Goes Forth")

OB: what’s the medieval picture of?

It's a 16th Century portrait of people giving coins to Catholic priests. You see the guy on the left pouring money out of a bag, the guy getting it is a monk or priest or something. In return, the merchant or whoever got less time in Purgatory, and had a duty to believe that this was so.

Indulgences were what Martin Luther flailed the Church with. He thought they were a scam. He was correct.

Thanks. I go with Luther, too.

Odd... I thought for sure that Washington DC held the record for the most folks who wore their underpants on their heads.

PS: I still mourn the loss of JPR.

I hope it's ok to provide general comments here.

Someone suggested that the greater amounts of attention to the genocide in Gaza than to other atrocities is due to antisemitism. I think it's because of social media. People of the 99% Class around the world are witnessing what the 1% Class is supporting as social media is making it very difficult for the Corp-Media (State media) to control the story. To control the story the 1% Class will have to gain control of the social media, like TikTok.
