Under no circumstances will my vote go to a monster like gropey Joe. I've loathed that thing since the 90s, only our media could make that corpse animated by lies and malice president.

Democracy, hah. No American alive has ever experienced ithat.

Jim Crow Joe was bounced out of the '88 campaign because he was a POS liar. He hasn't changed a bit.

It's so sad to see compared to the 2015 Bernie Sanders - and I remember the great Bernie discussions on Jackpine Radicals.

I do, too. If my heart were not so hardened by the last year in particular, it would be broken, but I've seen too much and like the character in "Network", I am mad as hell and not taking it anymore. Think of what our conversations would be on JPR!

Hiya! Yes, I saw that, too, which makes sense because Beth would have had to do this during the summer if the license didn't get renewed. I feel cheated... Ah, but I never give up.

Yes, I can't blame Beth after Steve died. But nobody was able to step up and take over, so this happened. There's no way I had either the time or the technical know-how to run a site like that.

Hell! Some Substack features are a mystery to me, and this place is comparatively easy.

Yah, I know, but he completely disgusted me in March of 2020 when he positively groveled for Biden. He even urged his Ohio supporters to stay home for the primary(for our health, of course) while Biden was telling his to get to the polls or else!

Then the state decided to do all mail-in ballots, and I didn't get mine until AFTER the primary was over.

I will never attempt to vote in a Democratic primary again. That was it for me.

Yes, me too. I didn't even vote in Oregon because by that time a vote for Bernie would've been counted as a vote for Biden at the convention.

I still wonder what the US might be like today if the Democrats and the media hadn't rigged the 2015 primaries.

Guess it's time to take my name off the Democratic roll. Is Ohio a closed primary state or open? I was in hopes of RFK Jr. I'm waiting for a debate between he and Max Blumenthal on the head in the ass myopathy on Palestinians and Israelis.

Sanders is hot garbage at this point. I went from 'hanging on his every word' to 'no fucks to give' over the course of 5 years between 2015 and 2020. Him attacking Dr West pretty much completes Sanders' transformation from outsider to sheepdog. He deliberately destroyed the movement that developed out of his 2016 campaign.

Please do not laugh at me. Here was my conversation with my girlfriend a couple of weeks ago:

me: I am going to vote for RFK 'jr in the primary and Rev. West in the general!

girlfriend: Why are you going to throw your vote away?

me: You've got to be kidding me... Votes are earned, not used for a popularity contest. Besides, what has Biden done to earn my vote?

girlfriend: um... um... But, Trump!

me: But Trump what? I swear Trump and Biden share the same suits. There is no difference between the two. Once again, the voters will have to choose between the worst, and the worst yet. Good luck to us. Between these two idiots, we are lucky to live here in Southern California because if there is a nuclear war, we will get it first!

The girlfriend was unusually quiet after that last line.

Sanders was only equipped to take us so far; and that leaves aside the obvious, vicious sabotage the DNC committed upon him twice.

West has the ability to take us only so far as well; + it's not clear that it's much farther than Sanders did.

We gotta stop placing faith and trust in figureheads to grant us what we need: a real left party. Even if it's a fairly loose coalition of smaller organized blocs, which would be optimal; we gotta have the party first, and provide its figureheads last. Because individual people can be targeted, co-opted, or otherwise subverted; as the example of Sanders has shown.

Agreed, the election of Roosevelt made us all think that someday we would get another savior. But saviors by definition only happen once.

WE are on our own now and maybe that’s better.

I’m not mad at Bernie or anything..I just think he is wrong, wrong, wrong. As with many people, his fear of Trump has distorted his vision.

I am not afraid of Trump.I go by my conscience rather than political expediency.
