Depressing but illuminating; thank you. I have seen Nina Turner’s name come up a lot and been confused by her profile. This insider report really helps makes sense of that sense I had (admittedly, without ever taking the time to research her in-depth) of not understanding where to place her in terms of left-liberal-progressive-whatever they are politics. It seems like the one thing that the Democratic Party is truly good at is co-opting challengers from the left (once they’re significant enough to be worth paying attention to at all, of course).

I thought Nina Turner was smart enough to realize that there was no going back after refusing to endorse Hillary in 2016. I can understand her really going for it with Bernie again in 2020(so did I, for that matter) but then to say voting for Biden is like eating a bowl of shit and then expecting Democrats to welcome her back into the fold?

She lost a lot of support from those of us who wanted her to give the middle finger to the Democrats and flat-out challenge them in a third party or independent bid. She could have done that this time around if she had started petitioning last year, thanks to Governor Mike DeWine who had lifted the Covid restrictions that killed petition drives.

She could have won, too. At the very least, she could have scared the shit out of local Democrats.
