Now, now, don't be a Debbie Downer...

The bombing of Yemen ... and Gaza ... and Ukraine is running smoothly, efficiently and right on target for mission goals : Enriching the war industry and keeping all the war industry and Zionist PAC money flowing.

'Genocide' Joe ... GENIUS!

Maybe this question is besides the point, but what hasn’t Biden just resorted to carpet bombing Yemen, you know back to the Stone Age , the stuff of which socio-psychos are made. Could possibly lead to escalation of hostilities, as in regional war??

Biden is doing the only thing this damn country knows how to do: bombing brown skinned poor people to enrich the weapons manufacturers and generals in the War Department (never call it "Defense").

I parse this as a senior moment of honesty. He's not in charge. Also the goal isn't anything they ever claim it is. Will it stop the whoever from whatever, no. Will they keep doing it because A they are lying and B they are the ones actually in charge and not the "president"? Yes.

DU is sort like a political version of The Stepford Wives. They will keep yammering along in their bizarre little bubble until someone throws a big enough wrench into the oily gears of the Democrat Party. Or they run out of money. Or perhaps DU is like that infinite number of monkeys hitting keyboards, never achieving Shakespeare, but churning out hateful political drivel by the container ship boatload.

Hey, Pam... I actually was not kicked off many years ago when I left it, so last week, I tried to see if I could get on again, just to raise some hell. I kept running into a loop of password won't work, so I see this as a signal from So Far From Heaven who whispered from the ethers, "Fuck THAT shit!" Hahahahahah!

Oh my gods. I never actually REGISTERED with them again! I just go over there periodically to enjoy the meltdowns.

They're more cultish than ever, not to mention snobbish. Just as we would expect from the oldsters of the Republican Party in our youth.

The Who called that one long ago.

MSNBC's bizarre coverage of the Iowa results - IMO, MSNBC is actually a tragically inbred second cousin spin-off of The View. I almost expected Maddow to introduce the segment with "Hi! I'm Larry, and these are my brothers, Darryl, Darryl, Darryl, and Darryl."

With heartfelt apologies to the wondrous William Sanderson and the brothers Darryl on Newhart. Not to mention that they would have done a much much better job.

I only know about the MSNBC bit because of @duedissidence . Maddow & Reid were so ridiculous that the Due Dissidence New Yorkers did a special on them.

Oh, I only saw it because someone else was ridiculing them on YouTube. It seems that they descended into giving Nikki Haley campaign advice, FFS. Now - THERE is a dangerous person. Side note - Vivek R. must be ruffling feathers by endorsing Trump - I saw a blurb about how his signatures stuff might have dead people. Haley Joel Osment may be called in to investigate. There will be a concerted smear effort, methinks, and up for debate whether it is the GOP or the Dems doing that. He may be Trump's VP pick.

I got rid of cable years ago, could not afford it, actually, and have never ever missed it. Everything newsworthy shows up on YouTube or on websites like this and JPR. (sniff) and CNN, etc., are just lying liars. IMO. There are about 7.3 million shows and movies I can watch for free or on cheap streamers. So I am good.

Ohio Barbarian's avatar

Amen to that. We cut the cable cord many years ago. We've got the free antenna TV stuff--old shows like Barney Miller and Star Trek--and streaming. I pay for Curiosity Stream and Nebula, for maybe $8 a month total. My stepdaugther pays for things like Netflix and Hulu because she likes them.

Do you have Kanopy or Hoopla in your neck of the woods? They're tied into the public library system here, and have a huge selection.

djean111's avatar

My county library offers both. I forgot about that, I will sign up.

I have Hulu and MAX, my stepdaughter pays for Prime and Apple and Paramount. Tubi and Crackle are free and have lots of stuff. Sometimes I pay for a month or two of MHZ or TOPIC, I love Nordic noir and British murder mysteries. It is easy to just binge and then cancel. Even YouTube has some good free movies and series.

Youtube fan here. Rarely have time to watch non-fiction/current events I'm so pre-occupied with contributions from free-lance independent journalists.....But youtube is always posting great foreign language (Russian/Soviet stuff) and other gems...Still watching the early 60's series Untouchables and it, along with current events (Trump-Democratic Party slugfest) continues to support my thesis that US organized crime never went away, it just became legalized.

If you're curious, there's Sling, which runs a full $50 something a month. But, I've recently gone to my smart TV having free apps with my Roku wireless to my router. Also, Jimmy Dore, Glenn Greenwald, and I believe Pasta Jardula will come through nicely in that format. I understand budgets, though, so know what you mean. (sniff, boo-hoo JPR), my friend.

I have a Samsung Fairly Smart TV, works great wirelessly, access to lots of apps. If I had a wireless keyboard for it, I could even surf the net. Well, I could do that now, but I hatesssss using the remote for that sort of thing, I am too impatient.

Budget is better now that I pretty much lost my house and paid cash for a giant doublewide that needs lots of fixer upper stuff, but is totally livable. Very quiet park, although lots of choppers and airplane noises at times this is Tampa after all. No loud music or whatever. 1970 sq ft, not much smaller than old house, but so nice not having mortgage or insurance payments, ins. would be $1000 a month this year, nope, not on Social Security. It's all good. I only have to worry about the state of the world now, instead of also worrying about stuff like food. I am lucky, I have traveled all over and lived in a few states and my bucket list is more like a to-do list.

Thank goodness for Substack, and OB, and, well, all of y'all. Keeps me sort of sane and involved.

Excellent... Get RID of the debt, I say! Good on you... Our house is 945 sq ft & renovated over the years to "age in place". That said, PAID for. We should all be so lucky. I see what's happening in FL, as I lived there 30 years (St. Pete, Sarasota, Orlando) and I don't know how my best friend continues to support her family in Sarasota, which I loved living, but of course, everything changes... If the internet dies, I think we'd like to, but we'd survive.

Thanks again to OB and all contributors for their insights and helping me keep my sanity....Forgive my being off-topic but just had to share this revelation from a discovery made during a family emergency in the DC area.... Going through all kinds of family records among which is my ex-husbands 40 year collection of articles on everything of a military intelligence nature...Just discovered a February1997 Greg Seigle article in Retired Officer...subtitle of article 'A special training program in Ukraine means job prospects for former military personnel'...According to the article, such a program was funded by George Soros and the Government of France....

Fascinating. Of all the mad dreams of global American Empire, the one about turning Ukraine into a frontier of that empire against Russia has been one of the most persistent.

I imagine American imperialists started really slavering over the idea of a puppet Ukraine in 1991, and they were already doing everything they could to spread their influence there by '97. That magazine article fits. Yeah, live here cheap, train our new allies for mo' money on the side.

From what I'm more and more learning about the Russian Federation (+) in the 1990's these people (FSU) were extremely vulnerable....Over the decades, it seems that the Russophobic/Western dependence model just expanded from individual groups to entire governments and states. Western training for foreign (mis)leaders was also part of the project....Very revealing article vis a vis the players behind the Western empire, how long this has been going on and who is running the show....

Yes, it's amazing how many of the politicians the Western media celebrates as "democratic" leaders are educated in the United States and have easily visible CIA ties. Navalny in Russia, for example.

It's pretty clearly an organized project, and it's also a big reason for Russia's harsh Don't Work for a Foreign Power laws.

I have, rather had(his choice), a shitlib friend who once BRAGGED about his subscriptions to the NYT and WaPo. He was flabbergasted when I dismissed them as propaganda rags loaded with far less facts than either RT or Al-Jazeera.

It seems a subscription to one of those publications is a status symbol amongst the Democrat Cult.

And now the US is very close to stealing the $300 billion from Russia. Zelensky is slavering. And says it is Putin who loves money. Why would anyone keep reserves where the US could get their hands on them now? Why would anyone buy a Treasury bond, really. The boast is that this will ruin Russia - but I think that most likely Putin planned for this. This tells me that the US will not permit any sort of peace agreement, and I fear an emboldened Zelensky will now do something even more dreadful than usual. Plus the false flags are likely all lined up.

In other news, Russia may revoke the agreement to let the UK fish in the Barents Sea, thus depriving the UK of easily available cod and haddock. We may see the Great Fish and Chips Riots of 2024. Seriously, that would be quite a blow to the UK fishing industry. But hey, the lapdog UK has eagerly sanctioned everything Russian, so what goes around, etc.

Well, the UK did just pay an Indian company, Taka, 500 million pounds so they could close the last blast furnace in Britain and lay off 3000 workers. The British Government seems determined to loot its own people for the benefit of whoever has the most bribes to throw their way.

It's not like this hasn't happened before. There's gotta be a Cromwell of some sort waiting in the wings across the Pond.

Just hearing about Israel's proposal to halt war for two months - if Gaza gives up ALL Israeli hostages, while Israel gives up SOME Gazan hostages. Um, am I the only person who sees a big bloody problem with this? IMO, once Israel has all those hostages returned, it will continue and complete the destruction of the Gaza strip. My grandson said no, because all the world will condemn Israel; I replied that, again IMO, Israel does not care about what the world thinks in the least. Done is done.

In other news, Zelensky has bombed a market, killing at least 27 civilians, and it seems Ukraine is building a 2000 kilometer defense line to protect Kiev, and I do not think Putin wants to capture Kiev at all. Busywork, but profitable for someone. Also, with Russia's air capabilities, why would it count on tanks for an attack on Kiev? A Ukrainian general or whatever has already said why take in loads of weapons from other countries, much less build factories to make weapons in Ukraine? Russia knows where everything is, and can surgically destroy them. Seems logical to me, but I am not in the military.

I really need to check comments more often. Anyway, Israel's demand was designed to be rejected so they can continue killing, and now it looks like Zelensky is going to fire a general who is very popular with the troops.
