Thank you so much for your uplifting (in the sense that though the news isn't always good, I'm in agreement with every letter) commentary....like-minded discussions seem the only antidote to survive the waning days of Biden's administration. On the Polish and Slavic languages - the western Slavic family employ the Latin alphabet but grammar is similar...Just read it was Peter the Great who reformed the Russian (Eastern Slavic) language from what I think is Old Church Slavonic to the contemporary system...It was brothers Constantine (Cyril after accepting Monastic vows) and Methodius that introduced the Old Church Slavonic and got permission to translate scriptures which at the time were only 'printed' in Greek, Latin and Hebrew.

I feel for your loss of your beloved cat - beautiful and I know well how essential they are at keeping critters at bay.

And West Asia....and the loss of Syria....I'm much older than you but may we both live to see the measure of social justice that the Palestinian people.have long deserved...My hopium continues as, thanks to social media, I listen to one analytical expert after another - and there seems to be an opinion spectrum of total loss for the 'resistance' to Israel, Turkey, US making a bad strategic mistake...The dust has yet to settle; similarly I think that Ukraine at the end of the day, has dug and is digging its grave even deeper by its strikes into Russia.....Russia, Iran, China and the challenge to the 'rules based order' are in it for the long haul and though they may lose a few battles, I do believe they will prevail.

This just in from Moon of Alabama on the US F-18 'friendly fire' incident....According to alternative sources, the friendly fire excuse is being used to deny claims by the Houthis that they shot the aircraft down.

I have no way of knowing whether or not this piece of discussion contributes to the puzzle - military technology is just not my thing...but it sounds like a valid point....On the Houthi side of the argument.....Someone on MoA pointed out that the fact that both pilots survived the incident to be rescued by their own forces suggested that the F-18 shoot-down would not have been done by USN SAMs. Just sayin' " ❗️🇺🇸/🇾🇪 BREAKING: Yemen's Ansarallah has taken responsibility for shooting down an F/A-18F Super Hornet over the Red Sea

Statement: 'Our armed forces succeeded in thwarting an American-British attack against our country, as the aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman and a number of its warships were targeted during the start of the the enemy's aggression last night against our country.

The operation was carried out with eight cruise missiles and 17 drones.

The operation, with the help of God Almighty, led to the following:

- First: Shooting down an F/A-18F 'Super Hornet' jet while the warships were trying to confront the Yemeni drones and missiles.

- Second: Most of the enemy warplanes left Yemeni airspace for international waters in the Red Sea to defend the aircraft carrier while it was being targeted.

- Third: The enemy attack on Yemeni territory failed.

- Fourth: The aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman withdrew after being targeted from its previous location towards the northern Red Sea after being subjected to more than one attack by our missile force, our naval forces and the air force."

Oh, that's ENTIRELY possible, but so is friendly fire. I'm not going to believe either one until I know more. If it was the Yemenis, eventually the word will get out from the Navy itself.

I'm sorry about Missy, and I understand and wish you good memories.

It's interesting that the land reform article didn't mention that until Zelensky changed the law you had to be a Ukrainian citizen to buy land. I know because a realtor in Odessa told me when we were looking at apartments - which all fortunately fell through.

Speaking of US dollars, look for the very recent pictures of Ukrainian drones flying into civilian apartment towers in Kazan, Russia. It didn't go over well in the US in 2001.

And the story of the Ukrainian singer in Poland amuses me - must not speak Ukrainian. My wife, fluent in Ukrainian and Russian, could communicate as a refugee in Polish - apparently Ukrainian is close enough to Polish.

Thanks for pointing that out about the citizenship land law. That's the way it is in many, if not most, countries. Blackrock wanted that one gone for sure.

So sorry about your beautiful cat - actually, IMO, all cats are beautiful. In honor of Missy, I re-read Kipling's The Power of a Dog, which applies to cats, too. Which guarantees I will blubber a bit about all the departed cats. And dogs. As is proper.

Trump saying he will back out of WHO - actually, WHO is on the way of becoming an unelected world governance, wanting to declare pandemics and the trappings thereof for all sovereign countries. So not a bad idea. IMO.

Isn't speaking Russian a very bad offense in Ukraine? I seem to remember people of all ages tied to trees or light posts because they spoke Russian.

I guess I should have considered that disliking Biden AND Trump on their mRNA pushing is a hard sell to most of the people I know.

So, now CNN admits they lied like greasy dirty old rugs about Biden's brain not being Swiss cheesy for his entire term. I would think that things like this would show people that they cannot believe ANYTHING from the government or MSM, without at least questioning things.

So - George Clooney, Alec Baldwin, and Sharon Stone and Julia Roberts et al. think that we ordinary folks are uneducated and un-traveled and should listen to them about things that would actually affect our own lives. Of course they are entitled to their opinions - but they are not entitled to set others' opinions. Quite a smelly bubble, that Hollywood thing. Hope it bursts big time, and also hope the days of ridiculous endorsement deals are coming to a halt or something.

Just FYI, the Ukrainian constitution says Ukrainian is the official language and it also says that other languages, including Russian, are to respected. Current practice is apparently different. While in Ukraine, I mostly heard and saw Russian - when people had a choice.

Thank you for that honor for Missy.

I imagine that singer was from the Russian part of Ukraine. The article said most of his band's hits were sung in Russian before the war. I'm really just saying it's stupid for any country, much less most of a continent, to ban any band. If their citizens don't like them, then they won't pay to see them.

CNN's desperately searching for a new audience since the one they've got is literally dying out. I don't think they'll succeed.

Hollywood has become so open in their role of telling us what we're supposed to believe that none of us believe them anymore. If we're not willing to pay to see their garbage anymore, or watch their awards shows, it should come as no surprise many of us pay absolutely no attention to anything they have to say.

Here's to your dear Missy, OB. You already know Mr. Mickey lives on in many way in my life, as they all do.. But, the earth no longer has her presence to offset what's coming from the dungheap of piss poor protoplasm in Washington. I've been saying for over a year now, but it's good now that we're about to see Christmas Story another million times...We are Scut Farkis and Israel is his sidekick, Grover Dill, who secretly has WAY more control, as the zionists have influenced every bad moved we've ever made, once we knew how to move U.S. presidents out of the way. Every single heartbreaking moments of this "collective West" of ours becomes a validation of why it was so painstakingly important for me to have finished every JFK forensic piece of non-fiction over the last 35 years.

You keep yourself well, because I'm 71, and after this past week, as I get over the only case of Covid I'm aware of that I've ever had, I KNOW we have to keep pushing the truth front and center. There was a reason I plowed through and finished Whitney Webb's book, and before that, RFKJr's book. As a result, I now have a documentary I'm going to recommend, which we decided that we would rent. I wonder.. Has anyone watched "Thank you, Dr. Fauce" yet? I predict this documentary will rightly reference what I've seen as the biggest swindle ever to be played on denizens of the 99%. I predict that this documentary will be beefing up Fauci's exit from what is sure to expose what we DO NOT want to know. Perhaps Tony is also looking to build an underground fortress, as well? They can't all escape us. To learn more about the filmmaker, see Tucker Carlson's latest interview with the filmmaker on Friday.

Some other sites on substack have mentioned it. I do wonder if the title might put some people off, because I have seen some remarks from people who do not recognize the sarcasm. I'm gonna betch you it will take hold. I happed to be watching it as I was going through hell this last week with Covid, so I've become darned near militant in my response to health care delivery system, which could think if giving me an FDA approved drug for covid, versus the one that half the US population can't tolerate and was never clinically tested. I've tried to immediately share with people like Steff (Jimmy Dore) on X and Sabby Sabbs, if she reads her comments. I don't know if you watch Tucker Carlson's interviews, I've watched some good ones, including the filmmaker of "Thx, Dr. Fauci". Anyone seeing this film within the first 15 minutes will know what has gone on here. There's no getting away from the message, and it should piss a lotta people off, which is good. We need to live by our rights here.

Also - thank you for this tradition; it is both informative and helps me put all the stuff I read about all week in some sort of order.

Owls are awesome. When I lived in North Carolina, out in the country, a huge owl would stalk my beautiful Siamese cat. The owl was not quiet and was really really loud and angry when he was thwarted. The woodpeckers were loud, too. Come to think of it, my idea of quiet serene woods was altered big time. Deer crash through the woods. On their way to eat the hosta garden that was so naively planted. Even spiders, if big enough, made a noise shuffling through dead leaves.

Think there will ever be an explanation of The Drones?

Here is something I worry about - it seems like everyone is being all chatty and open about Biden's senility. I am hoping that the "government" is not planning to replace Biden with Harris. That would make our joke of a presidency an even bigger joke, and who knows what she would do, or be told to do. Zelensky is getting more bold with his desperation moves - IMO - to somehow weaken Russia before Trump gets into office. Biden seems to be doing bad things also - pardoning terrible people. Biden can do awful things for another two or three weeks? And I hope Trump has not already been programmed to just do as told. Genocide and vaccines prevent me from regarding him with any admiration. So far, the Dem team is scripted to be more evil, that's all. Hopefully Social Security will at least be untouched. I have told some Dems how every Dem president has plotted to privatize SS. Biden boasted about trying to cut it, the Clintons had plans to privatize it, Obama had his Cat Food guy. I guess being in a cult makes brains leak out or something.

Drones...well, if the government knows they're not dangerous then how can they not know what they are? And then they keep contradicting themselves.

Some were so close to Wright-Patterson AFB in Dayton they had to shut down flights for several hours according to the base commander, but the Defense Dept. drone in DC denied it happened.

Redacted News has a lot on this stuff. One theory is that the drones are based on Tesla's discoveries that were bought up by the oligarchs a century ago and are now being tested for whatever reason.

Expand full comment
djean111's avatar

I don't really have an opinion on the drones at this point, but I can't help laughing at people who say the drones are American because they have the official running lights. Because hey - if aliens are smart enough to get here, would they put little green or gray men-shaped lights on their "drones"? Would China put Chinese characters and big red CCP flashers on theirs? I would blend in. Good grief. Just watch the eminently hilarious Resident Alien - aliens blend in. If these are aliens trying to make a point, like in Signs, they goofed. And weather balloons have already been used. The US should probably hire Kenan Thompson to explain things -

https://youtube.com/shorts/gzDCFIN42lY?si=xdPxhOZYEbBl1uku

So - aliens, our government showing off Tesla-oriented gravity defying creations, another country doing reconnaissance, our government giving Blue Beam a shot - many years too late, a War of the Worlds on the radio scary thing that flopped because we all Googled it and took pictures. Had to laugh at the inevitable Florida Man story - an older guy in a very nice house was working on his pool equipment when a drone kept bothering him, and dropped down some sort of cord. He went into his nice big house in a nice neighborhood, got a 9mm pistol, and shot it. One shot. Police showed up and arrested him for causing $10,000 damage. I think you should be able to harm drones hovering over your home, but that's just me. If Zelensky shot one down with a missile the $MSM would be fawning all over him.

Anyway, if the drones were supposed to cause panic in the streets, they failed. People are just interested and annoyed now, as far as I can tell.

What a thoroughly weird place the US has become. Also, if CNN says Biden was non compos mentis for all these years, how is anything he enacted legal? That's a can of worms no one will dare open, methinks. And if Kamala got a $20 million book deal - to be written by a horde of ghost writers - then KJP should get one too - imagine telling all those lies for all those years. Plus the DNC is gonna have to buy up all those books. Costco just announced they are not going to have a big book section except at Christmas or whatever.

It would be funny if they tried that.

Re: the alleged Millie operative captured by the red Venezuelans. It seems he was there to help exfiltratre some Venezuelan opposition politicians who are hiding out in the Argentine embassy seeking political asylum. (Vente Venezuela is an opposition party, which it seems is lately being suppressed.) That's not exactly what I would call a "terrorist" operation.

From the linked article:

> Últimas Noticias reported that on Wednesday night, Minister Cabello covered the facts in his program Con el Mazo Dando, reporting that the detained Argentinian agent detained was involved in a conspiracy against Venezuela, adding that he is a special agent of the Argentinian intelligence services and his mission was to go undercover in the country, make contact with the fugitive from the Venezuelan justice system, Iván Simonovis, “and then carry out an operation to get out the leaders of Vente Venezuela holed up in the Argentinian embassy in Caracas.”

I’m truly sorry about your cat, Missy. As far as the F/A 18 being shot down by friendly fire, it seems like the impossible is being represented here by the US Navy. All western military aircraft have a transponder that identifies each aircraft as friend or foe. This stops the air defense system from locking on friendly aircraft. If the system had failed, I would think more friendly aircraft would have been shot down as the sky was filled with them. The most obvious answer remaining is the Houthis.

I was a Navy Electronics Technician once upon a time, and my specialty was IFF. Back in my day, the biggest problem with it was operator error, or the panic that ensued when the Soviets DID use IFF. Seemed that nobody but me ever looked up their codes.

If they're saying the IFF failed, then either their technology has gotten less reliable or they're lying. Take your pick. I'd say lying is more probable. I'd say the Houthis came up with a missile the Navy wasn't ready for.

It is Christmas tomorrow, this is when we should have goodwill to all mankind. But I'm a flawed human being (as all humans are), I hope and pray that the old spirit of Christ will also recognise the absolue evil that seems always to be practiced by the so-called Christians, the vast majority of whom seem to have ignored that most basic of commandments: Thou shalt no kill !. I think that every parent in the world has a problem bringing up their children if they do no more than pay lip service to simple tenets like: Thou shalt not bear false witness - which is what they do when they acquiesce in the bullshit that mainstream media and governments puts out in order to justify all the killing and all the greed. I really do hope there is a God and I really hope that He has an accounting for just about all the past US presidents and their repulsive administrations who have, over the years, slaughtered inoccent human beings in the name of Greed.

And while I'm about it, let me just say, that the inhabitants of the state of Israel (and their Jewish diaspora around the world) are NOT God's chosen people. No self respecting rational person could ever accept that other human beings are somehow lesser.
