Agree,if the Ukraine matters to you at all you will want peace there.

You and @MizzGrizz have it right:

If you care about Ukrainians, you must call for peace A-effing-SAP.

My Ukrainian wife agrees with you - and she talks with friends still in Ukraine and Donbass regularly. They want peace first, and what country their residences they edge up in are secondary. With the destruction of Ukraine and the Ukrainian economy for decades, having their oblast remain a part of Ukraine is no longer a first choice, especially if their constitutional rights to their native language isn't restored.

I don't know those in Ukraine know the number of Ukrainians killed, but I believe it's starting to be visible to all. Too many families have killed and wounded, including family friends. I suspect the save is for you.

I suspect the report of 120,000 KIA is low from other reports, and from daily reports from the Russian Ministry of Defense. They are often well over 500, and today was a report of just under 1,000 KIA. That's just one day --

I can't find a single relatively independent report that says Ukraine can recover lost territories - this is all just Joey providing a market for war materials, as Zelensky fights to the last ordinary Ukrainian - not the elite, of course.

So слава миру - slava miru - glory to peace.

And now it seems that the US is going to open another proxy war in Taiwan - more war materials needed!. I read somewhere that it has been proposed that Germany move its war materials industry to the US - cheaper energy costs, ya know, how the F did that happen? - so it looks to me like the way the US intends to try and maintain its hegemony is by stirring pots and gearing up for (proxy) wars all over the world, whilst making the US into a wartime - profitable - economy. And looting and suborning the economies of its own "allies".

I wonder if Africa is also in line for its day in the West's barrel - France is being kicked out and is blaming that on Russia and China. as if the brutal and condescending colonialism of the EU had never happened. Other African countries seem also done with being used and controlled by the West.

Actually, what is happening in Ohio is, IMO, another form of colonialism, because the US does not actually care about its own citizens except as profit centers and objects to control. So those people are being left to become another Love Canal, in a way. Only this time in plain sight, and no one seems to even be a bit bothered by that, in "our" government. The only thing that matters is liability and profits.

Yes. I said it before elsewhere - Joey and his administration are evil. The visit by Olaf Scholz with Joey shows the US has destroyed the German economy too with NordStream and sanctions and they're fine with it. Joey is doing everything he can do to build business for the MIC.

There are brand new crises around the world that didn't exist two years ago and huge impacts to Americans from inflation. Did you notice it was Trump who visited East Palestine and brought supplies?!

I am not looking forward to the next two years, assuming both Joey and Zelensky survive.

I am feeling very apprehensive about that "Spring offensive". It has been said that what Zelensky wants is cinematic and disheartening. Zelensky and his Nazis, and the US neocons, really enjoy killing civilians, IMO. To strike fear, to prove a point, to get results. 500,000 children. I am starting to think that, since the Russian military has such a big advantage, Zelensky is going to strike at civilians in Ukraine, in Crimea, in Russia. I think Zelensky has lots and lots of saboteurs waiting in place in those areas. I read that he has a million or whatever of those nasty petal bombs, for instance. And US suicide drones he is already sending into Russia. I also worry he will just go ahead and use nuclear ammunition, gambling that PUTIN will ask for a ceasefire in order to spare more lives. It seems like Zelensky and the US/UK/NATO neocons are getting more and more strident and desperate, whilst the rest of the world is saying hey, hold on, stop the madness. They have backed themselves into a corner, and see - correctly - that a Zelensky surrender is the quite proper and logical end to their hegemony and influence. They are causing stiffening spines, not the weak spines they are avidly seeking. I think their brutality means there will be an end to that anyway, the rest of the world sees them quite clearly for what they are, but they will not go gentle into that good night, not a chance.

In other news, randomly, I would seriously question the wisdom of communicating with anyone on Substack, or anywhere else, who openly asks if there are any "revolution" plans afoot, and where can they hook up. That seems like a very ham-fisted infiltration thingy to me. But then I am tres cynical.

Zelensky, with the "support" of the US and the UK, is destroying Ukraine and Ukrainians. RFK Jr. just said that 14,000 civilians and 300,000 (!) Ukrainian soldiers have died.

There are plenty of attacks directly on Russia lately - here's the most recent in Belgorod. Maybe with the latest weapons from the West.

There was even a drone attack in the Tula region, about 100 miles south of Moscow.

Not in the news is floods in Ukraine, with dams kept closed to maximize flooding (this is from a source in Dnipro on The Duran / Locals.

And if Ukraine uses depleted uranium ammunition, well, remember that the UK provided them.

And it looks like the attempt at a counteroffensive is underway - looking at information from the Russian Ministry of Defense on Telegram, there are 500-700 or so Armed Forces of Ukraine soldiers reported killed every day lately, and 4 AFU SU-25s were shot down recently (the total is now 411 aircraft to date).

What will happen? I don't know, other than more death and destruction. Real information is hard to come by, other than Joey continuing to send hundreds of millions of dollars worth of weapons to Ukraine.

In the meantime, the US infrastructure continues to collapse, the latest being a train derailment onto cars.

Unfortunately, I don't see a bright future for Ukrainians while the West continues to arm Zelensky's army - until they run out of people, which isn't a bright future either.

So far, it looks like the "Spring offensive" consists of the usual, but now stepped up, shelling of civilians by Zelensky. Zelensky has also demanded 1% of all of NATO/the Wests's/whatever GDP to be contributed to his pockets/Ukraine. I said a while back I would not be surprised if Zelensky asked for a percentage or share of other countries' social safety net spending, like "Hey - everyone is the US should donate one month of their Social Security to Ukraine!". Does not seem far-fetched any more, but perhaps Biden is lucid enough to understand how badly the Dems would lose. It certainly would not be a moral choice.

There are new updates today - Ukraine attempted to use underwater drones to attack Simferopol in Crimea overnight, and a Ukrainian drone was found near Moscow (!) after it apparently crashed when it ran out of gas.

I do not understand how Ukrainians tolerate this war. Robert F. Kennedy Jr. in a recent speech said 300,000 Ukrainian soldiers have been killed so far. No way to confirm it, but he is a Senator so should have better information than I do.

But I hear too much in small bits from friends and relatives still in Ukraine.

Also - I think that, in additions to all the other heinous reasons Ukraine is being destroyed in the name of "democracy" - Ukraine is being used as a test, to see what works and what does not work in the quest for power and profit. Does NO ONE in the EU see that pretty much all other countries are just lab rats and cannon fodder for the US? The US is pretty forthright about that, yet the EU and Japan and Australia and Canada just go along with whatever the US does, even to themselves. In a bit brighter news, according to The Duran, Belarus seems to be stepping back a bit from being told what to do by NATO. But then again, it looks Moldova would be fine with being re-absorbed by Romania, in order to reap NATO membership benefits. If there are any, really.

I agree, too... When I read jbnw, it's a reality check on all this. His is the closest explanation to what any Ukrainian has asked for. The US is only in it for the MIC control. Listen to the people who have been caught in the middle of this and the strategies of those who understand war. I've been engaging via Rokfin with premium content between Garland Nixon and Scott Ritter. There are things Americans need to understand about war, and we don't. Instead, it's bread and circuses for us. If we protest, the retort is to try to make us into terrorists, when it's the US who pokes this game and the spoils of this conflict. They already do that domestically when you stand up against the same interests in big oil. Enough!

It's because US news is all propaganda, courtesy of Bill Clinton removing limits on media ownership. Most people only look at US news - if Ukraine has been covered from 2013 like Vietnam was, the support from Ukraine wouldn't exist the same way, if at all. But we don't live in that world anymore.

And I do get information most Americans don't, with friends in places like Donbass, Odessa and Dnepropetrovsk oblast. You do have good sources - I know what Scott said recently it will take to end the war, and I can't argue.

I also notice that almost nobody in all media talk to Ukrainians - you'll get a different viewpoint. Instead it's about war, not people. Hmm - just like Joey!!

Hey jbnw how you doing? I (3fingerbrown) was wondering how your family is doing and if they have arrived in the states yet? I still miss your Ukraine updates and the JPR days.

Doing well, and my family is here - it was definitely a culture shock! Cities here don't have people to clean the streets, very few fruit trees (many houses have them in Ukraine), homeless everywhere, healthcare is expensive and takes months for an appointment - well, we've seen the changes over time! But they are starting to like it here - there are many beautiful areas too.

But we all still want to go back when we can, and I've been a bit more cautious about posting - don't want to put our friends potentially at risk. This has been a vicious year there.

Thank you from all of us - my wife was happy to see your question!

Let me add an example from a resident of Dnipro, central Ukraine, about kids in the Armed Forces of Ukraine:

Dnipro Thursday Evening, 9th March

I never repeat a story, or believe a story, unless I hear it from someone who was actually their to witness it, or I witness it myself. I spent 9 hours on the road helping out today, and I can confirm without any doubt, that 17 year old kids are enlisted in the Ukrainian army.

I drove through 11 block posts, and was stopped at one closish to the front by a kid who was obviously not an adult. He was nervous when I pulled out by passport and papers authorising me to pass as I wasn't from Ukraine, and he didn't speak English. I assured him I could understand him if he spoke slowly in Russian, not Ukrainian, and he obliged. He is from Ternipol, and had his 17th birthday yesterday. I left him the last of the coke and snickers bars I carry for the soldiers who stop me, and went on my way.

I did not ask if he volunteered or was forcibly conscripted as we were interrupted by some artillery fire not too distant, and I was wanting to leave, but I can say with absolute certainty, the stories of child soldiers are true. He did not look too distressed at being there, and standing a block post 25 km from the front I suppose is a far cry from manning a trench, but this is still not right. I have 4 sons, the thought that one would ever have to fight in a war, any war, makes me feel physically sick.

And I forgot to add the one that I'm surprised didn't start a people's revolution in Ukraine: Zelensky has banned the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, and other religions, and is seizing their property. Churches have been burned, and here are armed police enforcing the order in Kiev. I've been in the Kiev Pechersk Lavra (below) which was founded a thousand years or so ago.

Since the pope happily received Zelensky, with no mention -publicly, at least - made of this, then perhaps things are more corrupt than I had imagined. Really, if there is a photo op and and sound bites that break the speed of light barrier for astounding hypocrisy, made in HIROSHIMA. then, IMO, the planned evil intent is mind-boggling. Ukraine openly boasts about assassination plans, and goes after the Turkish pipeline. Germany in recession. Spent uranium ammo cheerfully given, knowing that it will be destroyed on Ukrainian land, or, if that had not happened, used on civilians and poisoning the land in eastern Ukraine and Crimea. Have the puppeteers gone mad? I cannot imagine the lives of those still living in any part of Ukraine. They have all been openly declared and then discarded as collateral damage. There are only very dreadful ways remaining to escalate this or make it useful for campaign purposes until the 2024 election.
