It really has been head-spinning to me to see and really get just how much power has been exerted over congress and the media and what a subservient, trembling little cuck Biden -- or whatever remains of Biden -- has been. I really appreciate the courage and moral clarity so many American Jews like Katy Halper, Aaron Mate, Max Blumenthal and all the Jewish peace groups have really helped me understand the history and understand the fascism of Zionism and the role it plays in US politics and foreign policy.
Absolutely, no surprise there, but what has shocked me is the extensive organization, reach and power of the Zionist lobby and their various political action committees. I really had no idea. I also think the Jeffrey Epstein Mossad project roped in many, many more that we realize. It is why the client list will never be released.
It's important that more and more such Jews who're opposed to Zionism, speak out against the Zionist regime, especially in light of what's been happening in Gaza during this brutal period.
Nothing changed from the Carter administration on, then... I've never been so confused and amazed, mostly feeling I learned waaaay later than you did, OB.
Thanks for sharing your journey. I'm learning a lot from others' quest for knowledge. I don't think I ever had a good grasp of the Zionism/Antisemitic axis until recently. A genocide can wake you up pretty suddenly to the political vs. religious/ethical aspects of the modern state of Israel. I've never been a fan of theirs, but now I really can't tolerate what they stand for--more settler colonialism, more indigenous people being genocided, more of the same of what makes the US so horrible to this day.
To be honest, after the Israeli incursion into Lebanon in the early 80s I simply gave up on the issue. There was no sign that anything would be changed, I was tired of beating my head against the proverbial wall, and I had left the path that would have led me into a life of postmodernist wokeness and shilldom for the Democratic Party, or maybe worse, employment as an insurance defense attorney.
The downside of that was that I now had to actually WORK to keep a roof over my head, food on the table, and beer in the fridge. But at least I could look myself in the mirror without cringing.
There's a lot to be said for being able to look at yourself in the mirror without cringing. I may not have much in the way of material goods, but my conscience is clear. (And I do think they wanted us all to give up in the '80s caring what went on in that part of the world--it was just "too complicated". It just allowed them to get ready for this year's genocide undetected.)
Nope. The only thing that has changed is the sheer scale and intensity of Israeli atrocity. It's too much for the propaganda matrix the Zionists erected over the decades. That matrix now lies shattered.
Pity it took the deaths of over 15,000 women and children to do it.
As I comment below, this whole U.S./Israel genocide has just spun me around and I really appreciate the history and perspective I have learned from the Jewish left. I really didn't understand what Zionism is and the death grip it has on the entire political system and ruling class.
I have done a series of cartoons and illustrations over the past few months anyone is free to use in anyway possible to challenge the brutal corruption and the catastrophe being forced upon the Palestinians.
And, a call to all Substackers, language is important: "CALLING ALL SUBSTACKERS! Use The Right Language: AMERICAN War Crimes & AMERICAN Genocide In Gaza"
Keep exposing them and push for cutting all US financial, military and intel aid and support to Israel.

A happy holiday to you and yours, Ohio Barbarian!

Yea I have learned most of what I know about Zionism from Jews as well
Finkelstein, max Blumenthal, Aaron Mate, Katie Harper, and others. I would say they most certainly call it like it is.
And in the past 2 months I have learned a lot from them .
Non Jews on the subject as well Briahna Joy Gray, & Marc Lamont Hill as well.
